Update from Paradise! Home Building Companies Enthusiastic to Get Started on Your Dream Home.
December 8, 2008.
Welcome to the latest installment of View From the Oasis, where we keep you in the loop on all the happenings in Oasis Pacifico. As our teams in Calgary and Mexico are putting the finishing touches on infrastructure, we added a prominent sales expert to the crew and have procured a key environmental permit. In other news, Huatulco has been targeted by a major Mexican hotel developer, the area recently hosted some Olympic talent, and those who have been down for a visit won’t be surprised to learn that a prominent travel company has recognized Huatulco as a top romantic destination.
Construction Update
Although this rainy season has seen four times the average amount of rainfall, we are on track to complete the infrastructure for the development before the end of 2008. Electrical, water, roads, and septic are well underway, and we are thrilled to report that the Oasis Pacifico Amenities Centre is under intense construction, and pouring of the concrete for the gorgeous swimming pool will commence within 30 days. Please visit www.ownmexico.ca for all updated photos. We are also very excited to inform you that the construction of the first few homes will begin in January of 2009...your beachfront dream home is now a reality

In the meantime, we are moving full-steam ahead with Phase Two of the development project, and are pleased to inform you that we’ve engaged two new builders. These companies are ecstatic to be a part of the project and we strongly encourage you to contact them to get a jump on building your home.

Sales Update
Speaking of the Oasis Pacifico team, we are pleased to welcome marketing guru Danny Weiner to the squad. Danny brings a wealth of expertise in Mexican real estate to the group, and will head up sales for the small handful of lots that remain. He can be contacted through the Calgary office or at dnweiner@yahoo.ca
Environmental Update
In 2000, Huatulco was the first tourist destination in the Americas and only the third in the world to receive the Green Globe International Certification for environmental stewardship. Oasis Pacifico is a proud partner in this responsible development, as a commitment to the breathtaking local ecology ensures that the region remains an unspoiled paradise for generations to come. Therefore, we are thrilled to report that Oasis Pacifico has successfully obtained the blessing of Mexico’s exacting environmental oversight agency by securing the necessary “green” permits for the development.
Huatulco in the News
Major hotel developers set their sights on Huatulco
For even more evidence that the Huatulco area is the flagship destination for Mexican tourism, a big player in the development of Mexican airports and tourist destinations, ASUR, has won a bid to purchase 130 acres of land on the bay of Huatulco. As part of the deal with FONATUR, ASUR will construct at least 1,300 hotel rooms over the next four years.
Huatulco plays host to international World Cup triathlon event
On October 27, Huatulco played host to some of the world’s greatest athletes who came to compete in the prestigious Huatulco BG Triathlon World Cup. This high-profile race, one of only a handful of World Cup events held each year, attracted the finest athletes and focused the attention of the triathlon world on Huatulco. Olympians Kris Gemmel and Samantha Warriner – both from New Zealand – won the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
Huatulco a top spot for romance
The last few years has seen a number of prominent publications sing the praises of Huatulco as culture-rich spot of unsurpassed natural beauty. Renowned travel site Blissport has joined the chorus of rave reviews of the area, by singling out Huatulco as a top honeymoon destination, calling the area a "must-see for couples who prefer vacations steeped in history."
