The approximate time to build a home is eight months exclusive of the time for revisions and changes to the plans and drawings. We have already completed the necessary studies and infrastructure deployment is well underway.

Yes, you can rent your property when you are away. Oasis Pacifico will help connect you with a rental pool in order to help offset costs and generate revenue.

How far is Oasis Pacifico from the airport?

Oasis Pacifico is approximately 20 minutes by car to the Huatulco International Airport. Car rentals are available at the airport, and taxis are plentiful in the Huatulco region.

Is it safe in Huatulco?

Yes, Huatulco is a comparatively small community and has both local and federal police, as well as the presence of the Mexican military. There is virtually zero crime in this quiet area.

Are there hospital, doctors and dentists?

Yes there are two hospitals and lots of general practitioners and dentists to choose from.

Are there hurricanes in Huatulco?

Rarely, since hurricanes develop in the ocean and travel in an east-to-west direction. Since we are located on the west coast, hurricanes tend to move away from us rather than toward.

Is there a rainy season in Huatulco?

There is normally only 40 to 50 days with rain in a year and they tend to fall during the months of June to October.

Can a foreigner own land along the coast of Mexico?

Yes, any foreigner can constitute a Fideicomiso or Mexican Trust Agreement through a Mexican bank order to purchase real estate in Mexico. Oasis Pacifico recommends either the Bank of Nova Scotia or HSBC, which have representatives in Huatulco.

With a Mexican Trust Agreement (Fideicomiso) you may have the ability to appoint future beneficiaries or even appoint heirs (sub-beneficiaries) of the property.

Will I have to pay property taxes?

Yes, but they are very low, much lower than a similarly appointed home anywhere in Canada. We don't use any municipal services and instead contract directly from providers through monies collected through the homeowner's association.
