Drive ten minutes west from Oasis Pacifico and reach Puerto Angel, a breathtaking stretch of 11 beaches that comprise this quiet fishing and surfing community. In the past, the village was an important shipping port for the coffee growers of the area, and today its small, protected bay harbors many a small fishing craft. The town has a population of only about 12,000 inhabitants, and the pace of life is slow and peaceful.

The waves, however, can get rough (unlike the waters at Oasis Pacifico, which are ideal for swimming) and over the years Puerto Angel has quietly become a world-class surfing area. Some of the beaches see strong currents and bigger waves, while others are more moderate and provide great snorkeling opportunities.

Aside from surfing and snorkeling, there are a few distinct destinations, the National Mexican Turtle Center and nude beach Playa del Amor being but two examples, but more than anything else Puerto Angel is the ideal place to retreat to a simpler time and slower pace.

Fishing is excellent in the area, and fishermen regularly bring in tuna, red snapper and sailfish as well as lobster and octopus. The small beachfront restaurants all serve delicious, fresh seafood prepared just as you like it. Watch the boats come in while enjoying a drink and fresh seafood . . . this is the Puerto Angel experience, just a little west of Oasis Pacifico.
